5 Stages

1. Floor is prepared for epoxy
2. Coat of Epoxy
3. Chips/Flake are broadcast by hand
4. Clear Coat Floor
5. Silicone sand is broadcast for traction

Floor Preparation
Your concrete is prepared with a “diamond bit grinder”. This helps to clean the concrete and get rid of any stains, spills, and oil spots. It lightly etches the congrete to prepare for adhesion. Grinding is the best way to prepare a floor for a coating. Griding alows us to get down to the aggregate in the concrete which is what the epoxy bonds to.

Coat of Epoxy
We apply a coat of industrial grade epoxy. The epoxy is rolled on by hand to help control the coverage and the consistency of the coat. After coat a layer of paint chips is broadcast in a consistency of your choosing.

Coat of Clear
Usually the next day we apply a coat of clear, which is also a high gloss polyurethane. In the final coat of clear we broadcast a fine silicone sand that will help to provide some traction and slip resistance to the floor.
